A new digital study place in October

A lot is changing within our university of applied sciences in the digital area. For instance, you have received your NHL Stenden account this academic year. You now use this account to log into all applications, such as your mailbox and Progress. In the upcoming academic year, your account is also used to log into the workstations in the study landscapes. Until then, use your or backup account.

We have visited the study landscapes together with our DLWE Student Advisory Board. We have concluded that an increasing number of students use these spaces to work on their own laptop. That is why together we have decided to install fewer computers. This allows you to use the space and its electrical sockets to work on your own laptop.

The remainder of the workstations will be equipped with Windows 10. A digital environment which enables you to easily work together using Office 365 applications. The presentation screens in the classrooms will also run on the new operating system. Some rooms may still have computers with software for specific use in your study programme. These computers require you to continue to log in with your or back-up account in most cases.

Download Office 365 applications for free or use them online

Did you know that Office 365 applications (including Word, PowerPoint and Excel) are available free of charge for use on your own laptop or pc? Take the following steps to install them on your device:

  • Go to
  • Click on the ‘Office 365’ tile.
  • In the top right corner, select ‘install Office’.
  • Download the installation file and open it.
  • Follow the instructions and select the applications you wish to install.
