Transfer of mailboxes from Google to Office 365

During spring break, more than 12,000 student mailboxes will be transferred from the current Google environment to the Office 365 environment. All the emails and attachments of these students will be transferred to Outlook, the Office 365 email program. 

Which mailboxes will be transferred?

If you are a student and use an email address that ends with @student.nhl.nl, your mailbox will be transferred to Office 365. The moment your mailbox is transferred, you will receive more information about this at the personal email address you provided in Studielink.

Changes

You will continue to use the same email address and all your emails and attachments will be transferred to the new environment. You will receive a confirmation of the transfer on your personal emailaddress. This confirmation will also include further instructions to get started in Office 365.

Logging in to your mailbox in Office 365

You will be able to log in to your mailbox as follows:

  • Go to start.nhlstenden.com.

  • Choose Office 365.

  • Sign in with your full email address and password.

  • Choose Outlook.

Once you have signed in, you will see a number of icons at the bottom left-hand corner. These refer to your email, calendar, contacts and tasks. Want to know more? Why Office 365?

After spring break, all mailboxes of students, lecturers and staff will be in Office 365. This makes it easier to find each other in the address book, schedule appointments and work together online.

Working in Office 365 also has other advantages. For example, you can download various applications free of charge from Office 365 or use them online, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
